Paragon Jiu Jitsu Academy
Paragon Jiu Jitsu is located in Garrison Park in south Austin. The academy has four instructors, which are all blackbelts. Paragon has several kids classes per week for kids ages 8 thru 13. Gym members can choose to attend up to 15 adult jiu jitsu classes per week.
Paragon does not offer other martial arts such as Muay Thai, but does offer wrestling classes which supplement their main focus – jiu jitsu.
Aces Jiu Jitsu Club
Aces Jiu Jitsu Club has three convenient locations spread throughout Austin, one downtown, one in South Austin and one in Pflugerville. The gym has numerous instructors across multiple belt ranks. Austin Jiu-Jitsu is one of the longest standing BJJ gyms in the Austin area, having been established in 2003. The school was originally found by blackbelt Dave Thomas, but is now managed and taught by his two brown belt students. Austin JJ is a pure Jiu Jitsu school and does not offer other martial arts. New students can enjoy 25% off their first month when they sign up.
Mario Esfiha Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Austin
Mario Esfiha is a fifth degree blackbelt as well as the owner and founder of Mario Esfiha Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Austin school. A fifth degree black belt signifies many years of experience – with Mario Esfiha bringing over 30 years of BJJ experience to his students. The academy offers 8 pure jiu jitsu classes per week excluding open mats. There are also wrestling, judo and muay thai classes offered.
Gracie Humaitá Austin
Located in the Southwood Shopping Center, Gracie Humaita is also run by a fifth degree blackbelt, Professor Paulo ‘Coelho’ Brandão. Professor Brandão received his blackbelt in 1995 from one of the jiu jitsu greats, Royler Gracie himself. The academy is a pure BJJ academy, not offering any other marital arts such as muay thai. Located in South Austin, the academy is an affiliate school to the original Integração in Santos, Brazil. Gracie Barra North Austin Jiu-Jitsu
Gracie Barra is considered one of the most successful BJJ academies, with schools in nearly every city of the U.S. and scattered throughout the world. About 25 minutes from Downtown Austin is Brazilian Top Team. The academy is run by Ruy and Patricia Frade, both high level blackbelt competitors. BTT Austin boasts an impressive competition team that performs well at the local and national level. Members will have numerous chances to take classes throughout the week, including a kids class. BTT Austin does not offer other martial arts however.
V.O.W. BJJ
V.O.W or Village of Wolves is named after the academy’s founder, blackbelt Ryan Villalobos. V.O.W distinguishes itself by offering themed jiu jitsu classes. For example on Tuesdays there are leg lock classes, takedown classes and female-only classes. V.O.W does have a kids program, but no classes dedicated specifically to children. Children 12 and up are encouraged to join the regular adult classes. Children under 12 can receive private instruction, or attend the regular classes with their parent or guardian. V.O.W does not offer any other martial arts

Brazilian Fight Factory is about a 15 to 20 minute drive from Downtown Austin. The academy offers over 15 classes per week for adult jiu jitsu making it perfect for those with tough schedules.
